The system uses the front-facing camera and MediaPipe FaceMesh to track the driver's eyes. It calculates the Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR) in real-time. If the EAR drops below a critical threshold for a sustained period, indicating closed eyes, the system triggers progressive visual and audio alerts.
No. Core safety features like Drowsiness Detection and Crash Detection work completely offline using on-device processing. Internet is only required for map updates, sending emergency SMS alerts with GPS coordinates, and uploading trip analytics data.
Upon detecting a high G-force impact using the accelerometer, the app starts a 30-second countdown. If the driver does not cancel the alarm within this time, the app automatically sends an emergency SMS with the precise GPS location to a pre-defined contact (or emergency services, depending on setup).
Currently, Autonix is only available for Android devices running version 8.0 (Oreo) or higher. An iOS version is planned for future development, but we do not have a specific release date yet.
